Don’t Get Caught in the Crossfire: Firearms and the Law

💥Are you storing firearms for someone who is no longer residing in the Northern Territory? 💥
Under the Firearms Act 1997 a firearm automatically become unregistered once the owner has ceased residing in the NT for 3 months.
The possession of unregistered firearms is an offence.
If you are storing firearms for someone who has left the Territory you may be committing an offence and risk your own firearms license being revoked.
If you think this might apply to firearms you are storing, NT Police encourage you to move them to a dealer for storage, surrender them at a police station under amnesty or contact the Firearms Policy and Recording Unit via [email protected] to seek advice.
